Senior Secretary of ICT Division Mr. N M Zeaul Alam inaugurated a daylong online training today on “Artificial Intelligence (AI)” through a video conference under the “Education for Nation” of Startup Bangladesh- “Innovation Design and Entrepreneurship Academy (iDEA)” project.
The program was organized by the “Innovation Design and Entrepreneurship Academy (iDEA) project” of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) under the ICT Division.
The executive director of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) Parthapratim Deb was present as a special guest on the opening.
In his speech as a chief guest Zeaul Alam said, “Frontier Technology will play an important role in building Digital Bangladesh”.
“We are very fortunate that this Frontier technology has already started to be used in Bangladesh and is further accelerating the progress of Digital Bangladesh. “Covid-19 couldn’t hold us back,” he added.
“In Corona situations, trainees are now getting accustomed to online training. The more we can use information technology in our daily activities, the more the country will move forward in overall development. Information technology is becoming a basic need”.
Parthapratim Deb, explained the importance of “Artificial Intelligence” and said that it is an important part of the 4th Industrial Revolution. This training will encourage trainees more about Frontier Technology.
The online program was also presided over by the project director (Additional Secretary) of the iDEA Project Syed Mojibul Huq.
Mojibul Haq in his welcome address said that Frontier Technology is needed in almost every cases. Young people in Bangladesh have a keen interest in “Artificial Intelligence (AI)”.
The iDEA project will also conduct more training activities on Frontier Technology in the future.
This training focuses on AI and Machine Learning, AI based research on COVID 19, and Computer Vision & IoT Sensor-based Activity Recognition: Healthcare and Other Applications as topics. Professor of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) department at University of Dhaka and also specially appointed as Associate Professor at Osaka University of Japan Dr. Md. Atiqur Rahman Ahad, Professor of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) Dr. M. Sohel Rahman and Professor of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) departmentat United International University and the Director of AI and NLP of eGeneration Ltd Dr. Mohammad Nurul Huda joined the training as the resource person. More than 50 trainees from Sylhet Division took part in the training through the online platform Zoom. Besides, the whole program was broadcast live on the official Facebook page of “Startup Bangladesh” so that many interested people received a special idea about “Artificial Intelligence (AI)”.
The Deputy Project Director (Deputy Secretary) of iDEA Project KaziHosna Ara, project’s senior consultant R. H. M. AlaolKabir, technology Management Specialist of the project Mehedi Hasan Bhuiyan, Sr. Consultant of iDEA Project Monirul Islam, Communication Consultant Shohag Chandra Das, Students from different academic institute of Sylhet division, BCC and other officials of ICT division were present online at the time.
